GTA 6 Release Date

The official date: November 19, 2026

Rockstar Games confirmed the final release date after moving the game twice. GTA 6 was first given a loose fall 2025 window, then a firm date of May 26, 2026, before settling on November 19, 2026.

In its statement, Rockstar said the extra months were needed to finish the game with the level of polish players expect from the studio. Given the scale of the project — the most expensive game ever produced by many estimates — most fans took the delay as good news for quality.

Timeline of announcements

December 2023: the first trailer revealed Leonida, protagonists Lucia and Jason, and a 2025 window, breaking YouTube records within 24 hours. May 2025: trailer 2 arrived together with the delay to May 26, 2026 and a batch of official screenshots. Late 2025: Rockstar announced the final date of November 19, 2026.

Platforms: PS5 and Xbox first

At launch GTA 6 is confirmed for PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S. There is no PS4 or Xbox One version — the game is built for current-generation hardware only.

A PC version has not been announced. Rockstar traditionally ships PC later: GTA V hit consoles in September 2013 and PC in April 2015, and Red Dead Redemption 2 followed the same pattern. Most analysts expect GTA 6 on PC within a year or two of the console launch.
